ACE – ACE stands for All Campus Events, one of the longest-running student organizations on UT’s campus. They plan the traditional events that have lasted around 100 years each – Homecoming competition, Carnicus, and All-Sing.

SHC – SHC stands for Student Homecoming Committee, which is a new committee formed to plan events for the general student body and community during Homecoming Week. They are responsible for events like Barnwarmin’, Carnival, and the Gift Card Drive.

UHC – UHC stands for the University Homecoming Committee, which is made up of representatives from departments and organizations across campus who make Homecoming Week possible.

Chalk Ped Walk – Teams are invited to use sidewalk chalk to decorate their designated square on Pedestrian Walkway according to the Homecoming theme.

Anything Goes – This ACE competition event involves a team relay race in which the teams do not know what activities they must do until they get there. Think of them as Minute-to-Win-It style games.

Barnwarmin’ – This event was traditionally a fall dance hosted by the Ag Club up until the 1960’s. This year, we brought it back with a twist for the 100th anniversary. It is now a fall festival, complete with contests, pumpkin painting, and a car show.

Smokey’s Howl – Smokey’s Howl is part of the ACE competition that focuses on spirit and creativity. Participating teams come up with their own cheer routines based on the Homecoming theme.998495_1098097193584136_2717587625122578267_n

Banner Drop – This ACE competition event involves hanging decorated banners on the side of Neyland Stadium. All banners are revealed at the same time, making it the Banner Drop!

Breakfast on Ped Walk – Several faculty and staff members will be handing out free healthy breakfast items and coffee on Pedestrian Walkway just to get you ready for the day!

Rocky Top Royalty – This is a new twist on a Homecoming Court. The top 10 candidates of the Rocky Top Royalty must complete interviews, meet & greet, and other requirements throughout the week to stay in the running for Top Volunteer.

Top Volunteers – The top two candidates will be selected as Top Volunteers. These candidates should represent the mission and values of the university and use their platform to represent the university in the coming year.

Tower of Cans – Teams participating in the ACE competition collect canned goods in preparation for this event. The goal is to make the tallest tower in a short period of time. The canned goods are then donated to Second Harvest Food Bank and Smokey’s Pantry.
